Remote Access
Most of Alaska is inaccessible by road and must be reached by air or water. Even at that most boats and fixed wing aircraft can only access a small portion of the state and can’t move anything heavy or bulky at that. The end result is that to get anywhere remote requires a helicopter or mid-winter when frozen rivers and lakes (and oceans) provide overland access by snow machine, tracked vehicles or rolligon.
Over the past 25 years we have completed hundreds of projects that required the use of portable drilling equipment that was moved by small freight aircraft, skidded, slung by helicopter of transported by some form of tracks or over- sized tires. Equipment examples are as follows;
